Key Responsibilities- Staff Supervision and Development
- Support the Store Manager in supervising and training store staff
- Participate in recruiting and interviewing staff for the store
- Assist with scheduling and payroll processing
- Ensure compliance with TSA policies and procedures
- Operations and Sales
- Support the implementation of strategies to meet production and sales goals
- Supervise the product acquisition, production, and sales processes
- Communicate with central warehouse to place orders for next day's processing needs
- Store Maintenance and Appearance
- Assist the Store Manager with maintaining the store's appearance and safety
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and Salvation Army safety and security policies
- Identify and communicate ways to improve the store's appearance and appeal to customers
- Customer Development and Retention
- Implement customer development and retention plans
- Create an enjoyable shopping experience for customers
- Interact positively with customers and set an example for staff
- Recordkeeping and Reporting
- Assist the Store Manager with recordkeeping and reporting procedures
- Apply TSA-approved cash handling procedures
- Manage bank runs and deposit procedures
- Communication and Collaboration
- Communicate with the Store Manager and ARC Department Heads as assigned
- Work collaboratively to improve the image of The Salvation Army among staff and in the community
- Additional Responsibilities
- Protect resources under supervision
- Implement product control procedures to prevent shrinkage
- Control property, utility, and product supply waste
- Education
- High School Degree or Equivalent
- 2 years of retail experience, thrift experience a plus
- Associates Degree a plus
- Experience
- Has retail experience and experience following and giving direction
- Certifications
- Valid Driver's License and transportation to and from the bank
- Skills/Abilities
- Ability to speak, write, and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication
- Basic computer skills, including Point of Sales System, payroll program, and other TSA-approved systems
- Ability to give change accurately
- Supervisory Responsibility
- Gives direction to staff as assigned or in the absence of a manager or assistant manager
- Documents and reports to management any concerns in behavior or attitude
- Physical Requirements
