The City of Baltimore, Mayor's Office of Employment Development is seeking a Field Operations Supervisor responsible for the comprehensive oversight of community-based Violence Interrupters.


This role involves the assignment of daily outreach schedules and the monitoring of data entry processes. The work hours are from 3 PM to 11 PM, Tuesday through Saturday, with Sundays and Mondays off. The initiative is part of a proven violence prevention strategy aimed at reducing incidents of gun violence and homicides in areas with high crime rates.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and manage daily and weekly plans for outreach personnel.
  • Conduct daily briefings to evaluate recent incidents and determine necessary interventions.
  • Engage with external resources from surrounding neighborhoods to secure additional support as needed.
  • Analyze the underlying factors contributing to violence to facilitate conflict resolution and prevent retaliatory actions.
  • Identify and address high-risk areas for violence through community engagement and surveys.
  • Complete other assigned tasks as required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED is required.


SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Experience working with at-risk populations and individuals involved in gang activity.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in written documentation.
  • Background in crisis management and team leadership.
  • Willingness to learn and utilize necessary software and computer systems for job functions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position requires medium physical effort, including the ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and move between various work sites. The role may involve responding to physically demanding situations, which includes running, lifting, bending, and other physical activities.


A valid driver's license is mandatory, with a minimum of two years of driving experience. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and have a clean driving record.


Applicants should possess a solid understanding of urban violence dynamics and demonstrate effective mediation skills to address community concerns.
