Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at Ascension St. Vincent. As a Cardiac ICU Nurse Specialist, you will provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients with complex cardiac conditions, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients with complex cardiac conditions, including STEMI, cardiac arrest, and advanced heart failure.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans, ensuring timely and effective interventions to improve patient outcomes.
  • Coordinate patient care with members of the healthcare team, including physicians, pharmacists, and other nurses.
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs, ensuring a smooth transition to post-acute care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date.
  • Registered Nurse licensure from the Indiana Board of Nursing.
  • Diploma from an accredited school of nursing or required professional licensure at time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of Critical Care (ICU) experience.
  • Experience working in a high-acuity environment with complex cardiac patients.
