About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team at Petco. As a key member of our veterinary care team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional care to our patients and their owners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians with appointments, surgeries, and other medical procedures
  • Perform patient restraint, obtain and process laboratory samples, and handle medications
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and communicate with clients
  • Prepare patients for surgical and dental procedures, and monitor them during recovery
  • Provide in-hospital treatments for sick patients, including administering medications and therapies
Requirements
  • College or college-equivalent education as a Credentialed Veterinary Technician
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a veterinary practice
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Compassion and empathy, with the ability to maintain a professional attitude in emotional situations
  • Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills
