Job Summary:

The Industrial Electrician will install, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices, and related equipment in a water and sewer utility environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical maintenance and repair, with a minimum of six years of experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices, and equipment for new and rework projects, as well as ongoing maintenance.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, electrical code specifications, and schematics to effectively troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment.
  • Diagnose, locate the cause of, and repair malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment.
  • Replace level controls, float switches, pumps, and pump motors.
  • Troubleshoot pump station electrical controls.
  • Perform preventative maintenance through inspection of electrical systems, equipment, and components.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Perform duties in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations, contracts, permits, and standards of quality and safety.
  • Work on other electrical projects as required.
  • Perform unsupervised emergency repairs and services, including general electrical and plant failures.
  • Be subject to 24-hour on-call status as assigned.
  • Install, maintain, and operate Supervisor Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) operating system.
  • Repair control panels, starters, float switches, pumps, aerators, chlorine equipment, etc., and ensure the maintenance of consistent system performance levels at set standards.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED supplemented by education in electrical maintenance and repair, industrial technology, or a closely related field.
  • At least six years of related work experience.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Electrician certification preferred.

Work Environment:

This is a safety-sensitive position, and employees holding this position have the responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others. This position is subject to random drug testing.
