About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our team at Raytheon in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. As a key member of our Air & Missile Defense Software Department, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review software products for soundness of technical judgment and adequacy
  • Interact with senior software personnel through both written and verbal communication
  • Produce documentation related to the design and release of software artifacts
  • Develop complete software solutions, and influence the successful completion of supported programs and projects
  • Understand and utilize Agile and DevSecOps software development methods, automation, and continuous integration
  • Follows organizational processes and procedures
  • Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time embedded software, application software, and tools
  • Collaborate with project managers and other professionals within Engineering
Requirements
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of experience
  • Experience with C++, C, Java, Ada or similar higher level programming language
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, systems software design, operating systems, architectures, software development life cycle and processes
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, including ability to produce technical documentation, and the desire to learn new technologies and tools
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience developing software in a team-based development environment, preferably Agile/SCRUM, DevOps and test automation
