We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Personal Training Specialist to join our team at the Greater Somerset County YMCA. As a key member of our Wellness Department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality personal training services to our members, promoting a culture of wellness and fitness, and contributing to the growth and success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Member Engagement: Engage and educate members about the benefits of exercise, schedule appointments to develop structured programs based on their health history, interests, goals, and needs.
  • Program Development: Develop, implement, and instruct a variety of personal training and small group sessions, including fitness programs for cancer survivors.
  • Client Acquisition: Build relationships to maintain a steady growth of member participation and increase member retention levels.
  • Support and Guidance: Establish support to help members meet their goals, provide wellness floor orientations to new members, and identify and correct lifting techniques.
Requirements
  • National Certification: Must have a nationally recognized certification in personal training.
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma required, 1+ year of personal training experience preferred, and advanced certificate or CEUs preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Must be able to attract and retain new members, have a motivated and energetic mindset, be willing to be on your feet for a few hours, and enjoy interacting with people.
