Position Summary

We are looking for a motivated and skilled customer Greeter to become part of our environmentally-focused team. In this role, you will be the initial point of contact for customers bringing in metals for recycling. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver outstanding customer service while guiding clients through the recycling process. This position offers a pathway for career advancement within our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet customers at the recycling center, respond to inquiries, and provide detailed information about our recycling services.
  • Manage customer flow and direct them to designated areas for recyclable material drop-off.
  • Assist customers in understanding the proper sorting and disposal procedures for recyclable materials, ensuring adherence to recycling guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in recycling areas to create a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns, offering solutions or escalating issues as necessary.
  • Educate customers on the significance of recycling and its positive environmental impact.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations throughout the recycling process.
  • Stay informed about market trends, metal pricing, and industry developments to make knowledgeable buying decisions.
  • Collaborate with the recycling team to enhance operational processes and contribute to the overall success of the recycling facility.
  • Promote the company's commitment to sustainability and responsible environmental practices.
  • Willingness to learn about customer segmentation, industry standards, and classifications.
  • Accurately record customer and vehicle information, maintaining precise transaction records, weights, and pricing.
Opportunities for Advancement

Successful candidates in the Greeter role may progress to a Recycling Center Processor position, where they will sort, process, and prepare recyclable materials for further recycling. Additional training and skill development will be provided to support your career growth within our organization.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish and English) preferred.
  • Experience with scrap buying software (e.g., Green Spark, Scrap Dragon) is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in an outdoor warehouse or similar setting.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience or a similar role, ideally in the recycling or metal industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various metals, their grades, and market pricing.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with clients and maintain positive relationships.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and safety protocols related to scrap metal recycling.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping.
  • Physical capability to handle and inspect heavy scrap metal materials.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the organization.
