Medical Assistant Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team, supporting patient care and clinical operations in an ambulatory care setting. This role requires a certified Medical Assistant with excellent customer service and patient interaction skills.
As a Medical Assistant in Cardiology, you will perform clinical and administrative duties under the supervision of a physician or registered nurse. Your tasks may include venipuncture, medication administration, vital sign measurement, and assisting providers with patient exams. You will also provide telephone support, manage patient records, and maintain accurate documentation.
This position offers a competitive salary range of $19.17 - $33.08, commensurate with experience. If you possess strong communication skills, a detail-oriented approach, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist providers with patient preparation, office procedures, examination, and education
- Manage patient volume, reviewing scheduled visits and preparing patients for appointments
- Conduct surveillance for transitions of care, urgent/emergent situations, and follow-up tasks
- Perform selected patient/laboratory testing, including Point of Care Testing, tuberculosis skin testing, electrocardiography, and pulmonary function tests
- Document activities in the electronic medical record (EMR) and perform required patient follow-up
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Experience working in an ambulatory care medical office or equivalent
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologists within 1 year
- Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting preferred
