About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Specialist to join our team in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management. As an IT Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate inventory of all IT assets, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies.

The selected candidate will have a strong understanding of IT principles and methods for planning, updating, and integrating information system components, including software, mobile applications, and controlling future releases. They will also possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, and licenses.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies.
  • Monitor software licenses to ensure compliance and prevent unauthorized usage.
  • Generate reports and provides insights on asset utilization, compliance, and configuration changes.
  • Design, maintain, and implement hardware and software configurations for consistent deployment.
  • Devise and implement patching strategies and procedures, minimizing downtime and user impact.
  • Maintain a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) for all desktop assets and software licenses.
  • Collaborate with IT support teams to resolve incidents and problems related to assets and configurations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in IT asset management, configuration management, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL framework and IT service management principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
