Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and visionary scholar and/or practitioner to join our faculty as a Professor of Design Science at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and mentor students across disciplines and departments in the context of design and/or planning education.
  • Conduct innovative and impactful research that advances one or more disciplines.
  • Develop and implement a pedagogical approach that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Establish collaborative research and pedagogy with other Harvard schools.
Requirements
  • Academic qualifications depend on the profile of the successful applicant.
  • Candidates who pursue largely scholarly research are generally expected to hold a Ph.D.
  • Design practitioners may have an alternative terminal degree, appropriate to support an appointment with tenure or a senior practice appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching and working with diverse communities and students.
  • A record of outstanding creative research through scholarship and/or practice.
