Job Description

As a Special Education Teacher at KIPP Memphis, you will be responsible for delivering effective, high-quality instruction in your content area, producing unmatched results and student understanding. You will promote a college-preparatory culture, assisting our students on their journey to and through college.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Providing research-based specialized instruction to address each student's Individualized Educational Program (IEP)
  • Assessing student progress and determining the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques
  • Employing various teaching techniques, methods, and principles of learning to enable students to meet their IEP goals
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Active Tennessee state licensure and certification, matching subject area and grade band
  • Thorough knowledge of special education principles, practices, and procedures
  • Commitment to working with educationally underserved students
  • Commitment to the design and development of the school
