**Job Overview**

Youth Opportunity Investments, LLC is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. **About the Role**

  • This full-time position involves developing special education students' success in academics, interpersonal skills, and activities of daily living; supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines.

**Responsibilities**

  • Instruct students for the purpose of improving their success in academic, interpersonal, and daily living skills through a defined course of study.
  • Administer developmental testing programs, subject-specific assessments, etc. for the purpose of assessing student competency levels and/or developing individual educational plans (IEPs).
  • Adapt classroom work for the purpose of providing students with instructional materials that address individualized learning plans within established lesson plans.
  • Demonstrate methods required to perform classroom and/or subject-specific assignments for the purpose of providing an effective program that addresses individual student requirements.
  • Assess student progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students, foster parents, and administration.
  • Counsel students for the purpose of improving performance, health status, problem-solving techniques, and personal issues.
  • Collaborate and communicate with instructional staff, other school personnel, foster parents, administrators, and community resources for the purpose of improving overall quality of student outcomes and achieving established classroom objectives.
  • Prepare various written materials for the purpose of documenting student progress and meeting mandated requirements.

**Requirements**

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education and/or Special Education.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years' prior relevant teaching experience working with children with developmental and intellectual or physical disabilities preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to successfully complete initial and ongoing training & certification in Universal Precautions, First Aid, CPR & Restraint Training.

**Estimated Salary:** $65,000 - $75,000 per year
