Position Overview:
Under the guidance of the Director of Early Childhood Services, the Educational Support Assistant will undertake responsibilities assigned by the Lead Teacher. The role may involve various functions within the classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Director of Early Childhood Services.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with Ibero staff, community representatives, and parents.
  • Support Primary Caregivers and/or Head Teachers in delivering a developmentally appropriate educational program.
  • Adhere to Ibero's policies, state regulations, and relevant educational standards.
  • Engage positively and respectfully with children.
  • Ensure the safety of children during all activities.
  • Interact with children during activities and mealtimes, promoting a family-style dining experience.
  • Guide children calmly during transitions.
  • Maintain a pleasant and safe classroom environment.
  • Assist with minor cleaning tasks as required.
  • Complete all assignments in a timely manner.
  • Participate in scheduled staff meetings, parent meetings, training sessions, and events as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding children and families.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Authority:
The individual must demonstrate resourcefulness and initiative in classroom activities and lesson plan implementation.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma with a minimum of 2 years' experience working with children.
  • CDA in Child Development is preferred.

  • Experience with infants, toddlers, or preschoolers.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Clearance through the NYS Central Registry, a clean police record, and good health are required.
  • Flexibility to work alternative schedules for program activities.
  • Creativity and adaptability are essential.
  • Other relevant training and experience may be considered.

Physical Requirements:
This position may require occasional standing, squatting, and lifting up to approximately 40 lbs, along with frequent sitting.

Compensation:
$16 - $21 per hour
