Position Overview

The Electrical Maintenance Technician will collaborate effectively with Maintenance, Engineering, contracted engineering teams, supervisory staff, and production personnel across all levels to enhance manufacturing operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Installation, Maintenance, and Repair:

Responsible for the installation, upkeep, and repair of various equipment types, including facilities, production machinery, and production support systems. Equipment may encompass a range of technologies, such as computer-controlled, electrical, electronic, robotic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Electrical Panel Construction and Troubleshooting:

Engage in building electrical panels, conduit installation, and system wiring. Strong troubleshooting skills are essential for promptly addressing electrical equipment issues. Respond to emergencies and work to minimize downtime of manufacturing equipment.

Standard Operating Procedures and Documentation:

Develop, revise, and comply with maintenance standard operating procedures (SOPs). Maintain comprehensive work logs detailing labor, materials, and equipment utilized. Update drawings and documentation following installation activities (redlining).

Wiring and Modifications:

Wire machinery and electrical panels according to schematics and applicable codes (such as the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70). Execute minor modifications to electrical systems based on work orders and specifications.

Diagnostic Skills and Cost Assessment:

Utilize various tools and diagnostic devices to install, service, and evaluate electrical equipment. Assess the cost-effectiveness and feasibility of repair versus replacement options.

Work Environment and Safety:

Work in confined and space-limited areas, often in proximity to utility equipment. Adhere to safety protocols, including the use of ESD safety shoes, eyeglass side shields, and potentially other specialized safety gear.

Flexibility and Overtime:

Be prepared for overtime, including nights and weekends, to fulfill work assignment deadlines. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by supervisory or plant management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Training:

Technical College Degree or Diploma in Electrical Construction or related Electronic fields. Alternatively, a minimum of 540 hours of documented military training in electrical studies.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in reading, understanding, and updating (red line) electrical schematics. Familiarity with electrical and electronic symbols and terminology. Competence in interpreting and applying the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) and other relevant regulations.

Communication and Documentation:

Strong communication skills (both verbal and written). Excellent documentation abilities for maintaining accurate records.

Leadership and Teamwork:

Proven leadership capabilities in cross-functional project teams for equipment installations.

Practical Skills:

Proficient in using basic hand and power tools. Physical capabilities: lifting, pulling, reaching, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding.

Safety and Compliance:

Demonstrated ability to operate Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV) safely. A strong personal safety record (no lost time accidents in the past 24 months, personal incident rate < 2.0) is preferred.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Master Electrician license.
