Nuclear Power Plant Systems Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Power Plant Systems Design Engineer to join our team at Sargent & Lundy. As a key member of our Mechanical Engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing nuclear power plant systems, including preparation and review of modification packages, functional mechanical drawings, and engineering analyses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop nuclear power plant systems, including modification packages, functional mechanical drawings, and engineering analyses.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
  • Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment and develop engineering cost estimates for client-requested work scopes.
  • Visit client office and/or plant site locations to interface with clients and make presentations related to engineering tasks and status.
  • Lead engineering project teams and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality projects.

Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the nuclear power industry.
  • Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants.
  • PE license is beneficial but not required.
