Columbia Energy, a leading provider of engineering services, is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineer to work on design/build/test projects, technical leads, and project engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering design, with experience in preparing design deliverables, resolving technical review comments, and finalizing design deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative design solutions for projects involving nuclear and hazardous waste remediation, chemical processing, and nuclear ventilation, HVAC.
  • Conduct design analysis to established codes and standards, such as ASME B31.3, ASME B&PV, and ASME AG-1.
  • Work safely in office and shop environments, with a focus on safety in all aspects of assigned roles.
  • Provide support to multiple simultaneous projects and project teams.
  • Collaborate with designers to produce detail design drawings.
  • Generate test plans/procedures and support system testing.
  • Maintain configuration and control of baseline drawings and documents.
  • Effectively communicate task status, progress, technical issues, and meet project deadlines.
  • Review projects to ensure compliance with basic design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 5-10 years of demonstrated experience in mechanical engineering design to industry standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing design deliverables, resolving technical review comments, and finalizing design deliverables.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Self-starter with the ability to focus on project needs and delivery schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PE License.
  • DOE experience.
  • Experience at a nuclear facility or Navy Nuclear power.
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and learn new skills while contributing to project teams.

Working Conditions

This position is performed in an office environment with occasional visits to the company's Fabrication Shop for testing and guidance to the Shop staff.
