Job Summary:

As a Respiratory Care Practitioner II Registered at Kaiser Permanente, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients in various areas of the hospital. You will work under the supervision of a physician and be expected to exercise independent clinical judgment in the respiratory care of patients.

You will be responsible for selecting, assembling, and checking equipment for proper function, operation, and cleanliness. You will also be responsible for performing diagnostic tests of the cardiopulmonary system and interpreting data to formulate goal-directed plans of care.

You will work under the general supervision of an administrative supervisor or the direction of a technical lead to deliver respiratory care services to patients. You will be expected to maintain a current knowledge base of departmental information management systems and participate in routine departmental programs of cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing of respiratory care and other related equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Selects, reviews, obtains, and interprets data to formulate goal-directed plans of care.
  • Performs diagnostic tests of the cardiopulmonary system and interprets data to determine the effect of disease and treatment on the system.
  • Selects, assembles, and checks equipment for proper function, operation, and cleanliness.
  • Participates in routine departmental programs of cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing of respiratory care and other related equipment.
  • Maintains a current knowledge base of departmental information management systems.
Requirements:
  • At least three (3) years of recent experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.
  • Graduate from a respiratory care education program supported by CoARC or accredited by CAAHEP, with 62 semester hours of college credit, including a background in the basic sciences, or baccalaureate degree in an area other than respiratory care or Associates of Arts or Science degree.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner License (California) from National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Basic Life Support.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist Certificate.
