JOB SUMMARY:


Under minimal supervision, engage in tasks related to the fabrication and assembly of composite materials, utilizing expertise in bonding techniques while employing precision instruments, hand tools, power tools, and various machinery.

Availability for overtime and occasional weekend work is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow process documentation or verbal directives to determine the type and sequence of operations necessary for constructing diverse components that meet contractual specifications.

Prepare tooling and fixtures essential for fabrication and testing.
Operate standard machinery to address in-process issues such as excess or insufficient resin, trapped air pockets, or delamination.
Measure and mix components like resins, catalysts, fillers, accelerators, and colors in accordance with established processes.

Set up and operate forming machines and presses, or apply plastic cloth and resins onto layup molds or bonding fixtures to shape components.

Wrap bonding fixtures or molds in vacuum bagging materials, connect fittings such as vacuum lines, thermocouples, and probes, and evacuate air from the vacuum bag to prepare for curing or bonding.

Cut materials to specified dimensions using shears, knives, cutters, scissors, routers, or saws.

Mark cutting lines on materials such as sheet stock, fiberglass, or core materials, following templates, blueprints, sketches, or sample parts, using measuring and marking tools.

Set up and operate curing ovens and autoclaves to achieve defined objectives as necessary.

Cure products using heat lamps or ovens, connecting appropriate heating and cooling lines, and adjusting steam pressure and water valves as required.

Verify work using precision instruments such as verniers, height gauges, dial indicators, and micrometers.
Conduct structural testing with mechanical testing equipment to ensure bond line integrity.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
MUST BE A U.S. PERSON:
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.

High School Diploma is required, with preference given to candidates who have completed additional coursework in a related field.

2-4 years of experience in roles such as Composite Technician, Assembler, or Machinist within the Aerospace, Automotive, or Marine Manufacturing sectors is preferred.

Experience in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings is essential, along with strong mechanical skills.
