We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our team at Essentia Health.

Job Responsibilities

As a Nursing Assistant, you will provide direct care to patients, ensuring their safety and comfort under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Your duties will include:

  • Providing personal hygiene care and assisting with nutritional needs
  • Providing comfort care and other assistance as needed
  • Transferring patients safely and efficiently
  • Taking vital signs and maintaining accurate recordkeeping
  • Recognizing and reporting changes in patient condition to the RN
  • Maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program
  • 6 months of nursing assistant experience
  • Successful completion of an EH provided Nursing Assistant training within one month of hire
  • Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program
  • Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry
  • BLS certification or ability to become certified within 1 month from hire date
Work Environment

This role is based at Building B - St Marys Medical Center, with a shift rotation of Day/Eve/Night. You will work 32 hours per pay period, with a compensation range of $16.72 - $21.58 per hour. This position is part of the SMMC Main Service Workers Local 70 (SMSVW) union.
