Job Title: Nursing Assistant
Job Summary:

Essentia Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our team. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing direct care to patients and supporting the needs of our patients in a safe and comfortable environment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal hygiene care and assist with nutritional needs
  • Offer comfort care and other assistance as needed
  • Transfer patients safely and efficiently
  • Take vital signs and complete recordkeeping
  • Recognize and report changes in patient condition to the RN
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must meet one of the following requirements:

  • 6 months of nursing assistant experience
  • Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program
  • Successful completion of an EH provided Nursing Assistant training within one month of hire
  • Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program
  • Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry

BLS certification or ability to become certified within 1 month from hire date is also required.


Work Environment:

This role is located at Building B - St Marys Medical Center and requires a Day/Eve/Night Rotation (United States of America). The shift start and end times vary, and the hours per pay period are 24. The compensation range is $16.72 - $21.58 / hour, and the union is SMMC Main Service Workers Local 70 (SMSVW). The FTE is 0.3, and weekends are required. Call obligations are also part of this role.
