As a pivotal member of our finance and accounting team, the Lead Risk Management Analyst will play a crucial role in overseeing our workers' compensation claim program. This position is designed for individuals who thrive in a hybrid work environment, balancing on-site collaboration with remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the workers' compensation claims process, collaborating with our Third-Party Administrator and various service providers.
2. Partner with legal and safety departments to mitigate organizational risk.
3. Foster strong relationships with Supply Chain Leaders and HR Partners to ensure effective communication and support.
4. Advise finance leadership and other departments on claim statuses and developments.
5. Authorize claim settlements, including those that are litigated.
6. Provide 24/7 support for claims-related inquiries.
7. Conduct quarterly reviews of workers' compensation claims, focusing on thorough investigations, appropriate reserves, and resolution strategies.
8. Oversee reporting and analysis for the risk management function, including actuarial studies and contract renewals.
9. Complete annual reconciliations of service charges and manage funded deposit accounts.
10. Stay updated on advancements in risk management technology and maintain vendor relationships.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in insurance, risk management, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in multi-state workers' compensation claims.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical methods.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience with Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS) is advantageous.
