Stroke Program Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

The University of Minnesota's Stroke Program is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to patients with stroke and other neurological conditions.
Responsibilities- Practice in both inpatient and ambulatory settings, with opportunities for independent practice in conjunction with fellowship-trained physician specialist collaborators.
- Evaluate and treat stroke patients, with a focus on emergent stroke interventions, diagnostic stroke evaluation, and secondary stroke prevention.
- Utilize telestroke to provide clinical care at remote partnering hospitals.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Adult Nurse Practitioner training program.
- Eligible or certified through NCCPA, ANCC, or AANP.
- Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (NP's).
- Ability to work independently and in teams, including those located at remote hospitals.
- Proficiency with using electronic medical records and chart documentation.
- Previous stroke care experience or neurology training is preferred, but not required.
