FEMA Water Resources Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated FEMA Water Resources Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our water resources team, you will be responsible for developing and completing new hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, floodplain mapping, and technical writing.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and complete new hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to conform to FEMA National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) guidelines and specifications.
- Conduct floodplain mapping using results from hydraulic analyses and digital terrain data.
- Develop and complete engineering databases, reports, and work maps.
- Review submitted flood insurance revisions and evaluate submitted engineering H&H analyses for technical accuracy and compliance with FEMA NFIP regulations.
- Act as a technical liaison to FEMA, state and local governments, and other engineers and/or property owners who submitted the engineering H&H analyses.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, floodplain management, and technical writing.
- Proficiency in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS, SWMM, and AutoCAD.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
