Medical Assistant/Clinical Office Coordinator

Emerson Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant/Clinical Office Coordinator to join our team. As a Medical Assistant/Clinical Office Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring patient preparation and supporting the physician(s) with clinical and office duties.
Key Responsibilities:- Greet patients upon arrival and maintain the orderliness of the reception area and front desk, ensuring patient confidentiality.
- Capture and enter high-quality patient demographic and financial information.
- Identify insurance coverage and payer requirements for hospital services, process insurance verification, prior authorizations, and other basic benefit information for patients.
- Assist with billing functions and work with the billing company.
- Process patients quickly and accurately through the computer-based scheduling system for future appointments and/or testing as appropriate for patient care.
- Prepare patients for physician examination, including vital signs prior to the exam.
- Enter medication into the Lahey A Chart System for the physician to reconcile.
- Assist the physician during examination.
- Follow up with patients regarding test results following the physician's evaluation.
- Order necessary office and medical supplies and ensure the security of all medications.
- Maintain and support patients' rights to care, privacy, and respect.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Medical Assistant course preferred.
- Experience: Two to Four years of relevant work experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical/physician's office preferred.
- Licensure and/or Certification: State Certification preferred but not required.
- Skills: Computer skills, ability to maintain confidential information, strong interpersonal communication skills, customer service skills.
