• Commercial Contracting: Draft and negotiate contracts, advise clients on legal and contractual matters, update contract templates, playbooks, and policies, and support overall contract management.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interact with business clients and third parties to understand business requirements and policies, including coordination with Procurement, Information Security, Privacy, and Compliance.

• Systems and Processes: Support efforts to implement contract management procedures, tools, and tracking, including policies and procedures to improve and enhance the contracting process.

• Marketing and Promotion: Serve as legal reviewer alongside medical and regulatory affairs team members in the review of marketing, advertising, and promotional materials.

• Advice and Counsel: Provide clear and practical legal advice and risk guidance to commercial business partners and key stakeholders related to commercial activities, compliance, regulatory, and other related matters.

• Other Functions and Responsibilities: As deemed necessary to support STAAR business needs.", "Requirements": "

• Juris Doctorate (JD) and admission to practice in California (in good standing); or admitted to practice in another state and registered with the State Bar of California.

• At least 5+ years' experience as an attorney, including law firm experience and in-house experience; medical technology company experience preferred.

• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.

• General knowledge of medical technology industry, including applicable legal, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.

• Self-motivated, with ability to independently identify, analyze, and render practical legal advice and counsel.

• Strong contract drafting and negotiating skills, with appreciation for broader picture and long-term impact.

• Understanding of, and willingness to learn and develop skills to support, compliance, regulatory, marketing, advertising, and promotional activities.

• Ability to build consensus with diverse stakeholders and third parties and form strong, collaborative working relationships with clients.

• Ability to manage shifting workload priorities, with strong organization skills and ability to meet multiple deadlines across a variety of projects and programs.

• Detail oriented, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
