Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze complex legal and factual issues, conduct extensive research, and develop defense strategies on behalf of Freedom Forever.
  • Correspond with opposing counsel to discuss cases and negotiate resolutions.
  • Review, prepare, and negotiate commercial documents, including leases and settlement agreements.
  • Respond to complaints, discovery requests, and file motions with the court as needed.
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Member in good standing of the State Bar of California.
  • 1-3 years of general legal experience, with a preference for multi-state regulatory licensing, contractor's licensing, and compliance experience.
  • Real property, corporate, and employment law experience is a plus.
  • Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with diverse company personnel.
  • Can meet deadlines and perform multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance, with the ability to drive a personal vehicle to attend hearings and other legal matters as needed.

Physical Demands and Abilities:

  • Regularly use office equipment and computers for extended periods.
  • Comfortable reviewing and entering information into a computer for extended periods.
  • Able to move from sitting to standing positions, bend, twist, and use hands and fingers.
  • See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
  • Can speak clearly so listeners can understand, and listen to understand another person.
  • Occasionally lift 5-10 pounds.
