POSITION OVERVIEW

The Intensive Case Manager (Level 3) at Chicanos Por La Causa plays a crucial role in conducting home assessments and providing post-release support through a trauma-informed approach, utilizing child welfare methodologies and effective case management strategies for minors and their guardians within the immigrant and refugee communities. This position requires the completion of comprehensive assessment reports. The Intensive Case Manager (Level 3) will report directly to the Clinical Supervisor and collaborate with the Program Director, Senior Program Manager, fellow caseworkers, local social service agencies, and vulnerable children along with their guardians.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Hybrid Work Environment - (Remote 20% - Travel 80%)
  • Frequent travel is a fundamental aspect of this role and case assignments.
  • Occasional travel to the local office is necessary.
  • Travel may be required to assist field staff as needed.
  • Training-related travel will be necessary as required.
  • Support for other regional areas may necessitate travel.
  • A Master's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or a related behavioral science, with a minimum of three years of progressive experience; graduate-level licensure or eligibility; or a Bachelor's degree with at least five years of clinical experience and eligibility for licensure.
  • At least one year of direct clinical experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
  • Experience in child welfare, family preservation, behavioral health counseling, and social service delivery is preferred.
  • Familiarity with trauma-responsive service delivery and crisis intervention techniques is essential.
  • Proficiency in writing detailed and professional assessment reports is necessary.
  • Extensive knowledge of local resources for immigrant communities is required.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • A valid driver's license, insurance, a clean driving record, and personal transportation are mandatory.
  • This position may involve up to 50% long-distance travel with little prior notice.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
  • Commitment to adhere to mandatory state reporting obligations for child abuse and neglect is essential.
  • A dedication to the human rights of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and displaced individuals is crucial.
  • Possession or ability to obtain CPR and basic first aid certification is necessary.
  • Demonstrated alignment with CPLC's values through respect for others, confidentiality, and appreciation for a multicultural work environment.
