Position Overview:
The Department of Agricultural Sciences is seeking a qualified individual for a Postdoctoral Research position focused on water resource management challenges.

Role Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be tasked with the development of water demand forecasts and the creation of statistical and numerical models aimed at addressing water management issues across various watersheds. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collection and analysis of spatial and temporal datasets.
  • Formulating projections and generating high-quality visual representations such as maps and charts.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports and presenting findings at stakeholder meetings.
  • Gathering feedback and implementing necessary modifications.
  • Conducting econometric analyses related to water demand.
  • Assisting in the development of data dashboards.
  • Preparing scholarly articles for publication.

This role also offers the opportunity to mentor graduate students and collaborate on grant applications.


Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a PhD with a strong emphasis on hydrology, water resource planning, management, or agricultural economics, particularly in econometric analysis relevant to water resources. Essential skills include:

  • Proficiency in statistics and programming (preferably in R or a willingness to learn R and RShiny).
  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  • Strong presentation and writing abilities, evidenced by previous journal publications.

Additionally, candidates must hold a valid driver's license and be prepared to travel for stakeholder engagements, which may occasionally require overnight stays. This is a 1.5-year position, with an initial appointment for one year, subject to renewal based on funding and performance.
