Postdoctoral Research Fellow

The Dou Lab at Clemson University is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to contribute to an interdisciplinary project investigating the transmission mechanism of Histomonas meleagridis in turkey flocks. This project aims to uncover the transmission mechanism of the transmissible form of Histomonas and identify the cellular pathways involved in this transition. Additionally, the project will involve high throughput drug screening to develop novel antibiotics and identify their targets.
The ideal candidate will have experience in molecular biology and genetics of eukaryotic pathogens, drug screening, and demonstrate enthusiasm for learning and applying complementary research methods. Strong interpersonal skills, excellent organizational and management abilities, and the capacity to lead independent research are essential. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading the project, including developing new methodologies, writing research manuscripts and proposals, and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.
