Process Improvement Specialist

At GRN, we are seeking a highly skilled Process Improvement Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for implementing continuous improvement principles throughout our VPC and/or PDC.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain production processes throughout the VPC and/or PDC.
- Maintain open lines of communication with line and staff members to monitor and report progress of key initiatives.
- Present process improvement opportunities, analysis, observations, and recommendations to the Director of Operations.
- Design and develop job instructions and accessory installation times for the VPC and/or PDC.
- Develop standards and documentation relating to facility planning, process design, and vehicle flow.
- Develop and implement strategic plans, standard data charts, and work instructions.
- Train VPC associates to understand continuous improvement concepts.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure accessories launched at the VPC are properly suited for a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Responsible for receiving, transmitting, and handling consumer and customer data per applicable policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
- 5-7 years of operations experience, including auditing, operations analysis, and successful implementation of performance enhancement initiatives.
- Experience with lean tools such as Standard Work, 5S, Visual Management, Kanban, Material Routes, Level Loading, and Poka-yoke.
- Experience in problem-solving methodologies such as 8Ds, Kepner and Tregoe, Shainin, Red X, and Six Sigma.
- Experience in Value Stream Mapping.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interface with diverse audiences.
- Experience leading and coaching Kaizen work teams and motivating others to take the initiative to make things better.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Solid working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is necessary.
- SAP, Minitab, Tableau, Denodo, Simul8 experience preferred.
- Demonstrate action planning and coordination skills.
- Demonstrate excellent technical analysis and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to promote, coordinate, and implement change.
- Ability to understand and apply GST financial and productivity measures.
- DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Required.
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Preferred.
10% Minimal travel is required for this position (up to 10% of the time and on a domestic basis).
