The Productivity Team is seeking a Procurement and Commodity Leader to join our dynamic organization, focusing on our esteemed OEM Automotive Client.

Position Overview:

As the Procurement Manager for North America, you will oversee both strategic and operational functions within your designated area, employing global methodologies. Your role will involve steering the daily operations and performance of your team of project and commodity buyers, ensuring alignment with quality, cost, delivery, and service metrics. Your responsibilities will encompass managing supplier partnerships, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and contributing to supplier negotiations and overarching segment strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate as a key member of the North America Purchasing Extended Leadership team, actively contributing to the team’s growth and development.
  • Oversee procurement deliverables to support regional and global business goals for assigned responsibilities and commodities, ensuring timely development and execution of project sourcing and commodity plans.
  • Provide insights and execute segment strategies while managing supplier selection, relationships, partnerships, and negotiations.
  • Take ownership of budget management and operational expenses.
  • Facilitate collaboration with managers across relevant segments and regions.
  • Manage cross-functional interactions with Engineering to develop technical roadmaps and appoint supplier hosts within your area.
  • Contribute to the department's purchasing business plan, emphasizing continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives.
  • Act as a liaison among regions, business units, and other departments related to your segment or commodity.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct management experience.
  • Experience managing a team of 10 professionals.
  • Background in strategic procurement within heavy manufacturing or an engineering context, particularly in areas such as brakes, suspension, steering, wheels, tires, wheel ends, or third-party manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively within a global matrix organization.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical capabilities, and a focus on digitalization.
  • Capacity to assess complex situations and respond promptly and effectively.
