Job Summary:

The Patient Navigator serves as a key contact for patient services in the Radiology Department at University Hospital, Newark NJ. As a patient advocate, this individual will guide assigned patients through the healthcare system, ensuring timely appointments and resolving access issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop relationships with referring healthcare providers and ensure the complete and efficient management of all referrals.
  • Acquire necessary patient-care materials and medical records.
  • Provide technical service as needed and monthly statistics and referring patterns.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, plus two years of work experience in a healthcare environment dealing directly with patients.
  • Technical clinical experience a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, with flexible hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) a plus.
