Job Title: Vascular Interventional Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Vascular Interventional Technologist to join our team at Christiana Care. As a vital member of our VIR team, you will assist physicians during vascular interventional radiology procedures and ensure the safe and efficient care of patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for vascular interventional radiology procedures, including arteriograms, embolization's, drain insertions, and other related procedures.
  • Ensure proper safety standards are met for compliance with departmental policies, radiation safety standards, and joint commission regulations.
  • Operate required imaging equipment using established guidelines and imaging protocols.
  • Instruct students and residents and perform preceptor duties when necessary.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining supply inventory.
  • Assist in departmental Performance Improvement assessments and initiatives.
  • Serve as a technical resource to the full procedural team in support of the physician.
  • Communicate effectively with good interpersonal skills.
  • Act as a team member during procedures to assure a safe and efficient patient care on a daily basis.
  • Demonstrate compliance with Christiana Care and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform duties of a scrub assistant during a procedure, including; controlling and manipulating guide wires and balloon catheters, and maintaining a sterile field.
Schedule/Hours:

Our team works a rotating schedule, with 3 weeks working in the Newark VIR department and 1 week working in the Wilmington VIR department. The schedule includes 10-hour shifts, with a mix of morning and late shifts. On-call is 1 day a week, and every 5th or 6th weekend.

Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology.
  • Interventional radiology procedural lab experience preferred.
  • Current A.R.R.T registration.
  • Current RTR Licensure with State of Delaware.
