Job Title: Principal/Senior Principal Diffusion Semiconductor Process Engineer

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Principal or Senior Principal Diffusion Semiconductor Process Engineer to join our team at the Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) in Linthicum, Maryland.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position that will be responsible for all aspects of sustaining existing Diffusion/Implant/RTP processes for a development line, including process qualifications and technician training. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing Diffusion/Implant/RTP processes for new materials and emerging technologies in both microelectronics and superconducting electronics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and sustain Diffusion/Implant/RTP processes for a development line
  • Interface with other unit process engineers, operations, and integration engineers during the design and execution of process/equipment improvement projects
  • Develop new Diffusion/Implant/RTP processes for emerging technologies
  • Write and maintain process documentation
  • Support statistical process control (SPC) and continuous improvement efforts
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or other related technical discipline
  • 5 years of relevant experience (3 years with a MS, 0 with a PhD) in the Diffusion industry
  • Hands-on experience running semiconductor process equipment and with process sustaining/development activities
  • Ability to work independently and provide technical solutions to complex problems
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC)
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Direct experience with semiconductor fabrication and working in a cleanroom environment
  • Hands-on experience running Diffusion/Implant/RTP process equipment and with process sustaining/development activities
  • Experience with TEOS- and silane-based dielectric deposition
  • Experience with thin film characterization equipment and techniques
  • Experience with PECVD, ALD, MOCVD, Diffusion, RTA/RTP, Implant
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to communicate well with others
What We Offer:

Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $102,400 - $153,600, as well as a discretionary bonus and a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
