Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sterile Processing Assistant Manager to join our team at Emory Healthcare. As a key member of our Central Sterile Supply department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in the processing and distribution of medical instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of Sterile Processing Technicians and Supply Technicians to ensure efficient and effective processing and distribution of medical instruments and equipment.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the OR and CS leadership to ensure seamless communication and coordination of sterile processing activities.
  • Conduct regular inventory and ordering of medical disposable goods to ensure adequate stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on aseptic techniques, sterilization procedures, and quality control measures.
  • Develop and implement process improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity in the Central Sterile Supply department.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety in sterile processing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in a similarly complex surgical services environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of sterilization techniques and quality control procedures.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) and Certified Health Leader (CHL) or Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) / Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
  • Excellent analytical and persuasion skills, with the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.
