Overview

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate staff in the sterilization and distribution functions of the sterile processing/or material management department shift.
  • Provide real-time decision making to issues that impact shift regarding customer service, staff assignments, and policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for staffing, evaluating work performance and recommending corrective action as appropriate in accordance with established policies.
  • Coordinates with the Human Resources business partner for Perioperative Services and the Administrator on personnel issues.
  • Establishes strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operations information; identifying and evaluating trends and options; choosing a course of action; defining objectives; evaluating outcomes.
  • Identify and support the use of technologies and methods to improve productivity, quality performance and overall value.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in a similarly complex surgical services environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of sterilization techniques. Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Must have CRCST and CHL or CIS / CST (Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician, Certified Health Leader, Certified Instrument Specialist, Certified Surgical Technologist).
  • Must possess excellent analytical and persuasion skills. Knowledge of personal computer and software to include Excel, Access, Word, & Outlook.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to identify problems then determine and implement appropriate, effective solutions. Ability to implement process improvement strategies and quality initiatives. Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.

Work Environment
