We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager to join our Sterile Processing Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of patient care by managing the sterilization and distribution of medical instruments and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the SPD manager and OR director, and direction to the staff, and facilitate the workflow through the department.
- Ensure all instruments and emergency supplies meet established quotas, and are cleaned, assembled, packaged, and sterilized according to current standards.
- Monitor and adjust inventory levels to mitigate excess inventory and ensure end-users have what is needed to perform surgical cases.
- Supervise and coordinate staff in the sterilization and distribution functions of the sterile processing/or material management department shift.
- Provide real-time decision making to issues that impact shift regarding customer service, staff assignments, and policies and procedures.
- Establish strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operations information; identifying and evaluating trends and options; choosing a course of action; defining objectives; evaluating outcomes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of relevant experience in a similarly complex surgical services environment.
- Thorough knowledge of sterilization techniques. Previous supervisory experience required.
- Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) and Certified Health Leader (CHL) or Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) / Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
- Excellent analytical and persuasion skills. Knowledge of personal computer and software to include Excel, Access, Word, & Outlook.
