Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced writer to join our team at Comic Book Resources (CBR) as a Gaming News Author. This is a paid freelance, remote position that requires a passion for video games, writing, and a drive to grow within the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write high-quality articles on video game news, including fact-checking, formatting, linking, and image sourcing.
  • Brainstorm, pitch, and develop original content ideas that align with CBR's house style.
  • Communicate openly and actively with the editorial team.

Requirements:

  • A broad working knowledge of gaming, including major AAA titles, Marvel & DC games, retro games, JRPGs, Pokémon, The Legend of Zelda, Persona, Final Fantasy, Nintendo, FromSoftware, Rockstar, and Tabletop.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of new video game releases and video game news.
  • Excellent command of the English language and a sharp eye for grammatical details.
  • Ability to write high-quality articles with swift turn-around times and comfortable working in an entirely virtual environment.
