Job Title: News Services Monitor PT

At MSG Entertainment Holdings, LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented News Services Monitor PT to join our team. As a key member of our News Services department, you will be responsible for tracking and monitoring media presence in various publications, social media, and radio outlets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor print and online publications, as well as social media outlets, for mentions of MSG Entertainment, MSG Sports, and Sphere Entertainment.
  • Track, format, and distribute clip reports for various departments, including Knicks, Rangers, Entertainment, MSG Networks, Sports Properties, and Corporate.
  • Monitor sports and entertainment reporters on Twitter to capture stories and relevant information.
  • Format actual clips into clip reports, adhering to formatting guidelines.
  • Maintain and update knowledge of client requirements, business developments, and media environment.
  • Prepare media briefs according to department specifications, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Research various topics for the Communications department, including potential pitching opportunities.
  • Transcribe interviews or broadcast segments for archival purposes.
  • Provide backup support for other team members during vacations, sick time, or other absences.
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of experience in sports and entertainment.
  • Advanced knowledge and passion for sports, particularly in the tri-state area, and MSG's brands and properties.
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate news items accurately and with urgency, spotting current trends and forecasting potential issues.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and eye for formatting.
  • Public relations and/or journalistic background and ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well with others in different environments and situations.
  • Preferred experience in corporate communications, preferably at a media/entertainment, news, or sports company or property; or agency experience representing media/entertainment companies and experience with Meltwater, Muck Rack, Critical Mention, and/or other media monitoring tools.
Special Requirements:
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
