Submarine Combat Systems Technician

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Submarine Combat Systems Technician to join our team in Portsmouth, NH. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical evaluation and performing corrective actions for Submarine Combat systems casualties in accordance with the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual and all applicable Navy Maintenance Procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Install, monitor, and service equipment and systems at Company and client sites.
- Assist with test and evaluation, checkout, certification tasks, and perform validations/verifications of various electronic systems.
- Review change proposals for equipment impacts and assist in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions.
- Develop technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, trouble-shooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements.
- Support systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise and establish and maintain a filing system, databases, and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory.
- Direct on-site customer interface for equipment/systems installation, testing, survey, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed.
- Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, and system specifications and test procedures.
- Provide technical data and evaluation for components, equipment, and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout, and contract requirements.
- Serve as senior/lead technician and assist in the training of other technicians.
- Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain an Active Secret US Government Clearance.
- Five (5) years of practical experience and High School diploma/GED OR Three (3) years practical experience and an Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or four-year electronics apprentice program.
- Submarine Combat Systems equipment experience is required.
- Position requires travel up to 10% of the time.
- Experience with network configuration and BYG-1 combat control system is preferred.
