Position Overview:

The Nuclear Systems Operations Analyst will deliver operational and maintenance assistance to the Carrier Engineering Team and PEO aircraft carriers, focusing on the refueling and complex overhaul (RCOH) of aircraft carriers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support planning and execution for the Reactor Department and related Production Teams regarding the Ship's Force Work Package (SFWP) and work integration.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of NIMITZ Class propulsion mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Assist in planning and execution to achieve relevant Key Events (KE).
  • Monitor and report metrics for the Ship's Force Material Condition Assessment Program (MCAP) discrepancies and burn-down rates to ensure readiness.
  • Evaluate available divisional man-hours against remaining man-hours to guarantee that tasks can be completed within the scheduled timeframe.
  • Assist in the evaluation of work, particularly regarding MCAP discrepancies.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in aircraft carrier maintenance and operations.
  • Experience with shipboard preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Familiarity with nuclear power and propulsion systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in Project/Program Management.
  • Former US Navy Chief Petty Officer, Chief Warrant Officer, or Limited Duty Officer.
  • Prior experience as a nuclear machinist mate or mechanic.

Security Clearance:

  • Must possess an active U.S. government secret security clearance and U.S. Citizenship.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods to operate office equipment.
  • Proficient in using computers and other office machinery.
  • Effective communication skills for interaction with colleagues, management, and clients.
  • Occasional requirement to ascend and descend ladders.
