Job Title: Communications Specialist

Blue Water Thinking is seeking a skilled Communications Specialist to support a large program at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies to support the organization's objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic communications plans in alignment with program goals and objectives.
  • Create high-quality internal and external communications materials, including press releases, newsletters, presentations, and reports.
  • Serve as a liaison between the program team and key stakeholders, including government representatives.
  • Provide communications support for events, trainings, and meetings, including coordination of logistics and materials.
  • Conduct media relations activities, including crafting press releases and managing inquiries.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and recommend improvements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in management analysis or related fields with a Bachelor's Degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Experience working in federal contracting, particularly with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Strong knowledge of communications tools and platforms, including social media management.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and multiple stakeholders.

Eligibility:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role.

Compensation:

Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including location, experience, and contract-specific affordability. The proposed salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000.
