Patient Access Coordinator

This is an on-site position, working approximately 21-26 hours per week, with a flexible schedule from 4 pm to 8:15 pm Monday through Friday. As a Clinical Operations Assistant, you will be responsible for verifying patient insurance eligibility, obtaining necessary authorizations, and resolving any outstanding balances. You will also train staff on new processes, payer updates, and assigned reporting.

Responsibilities:
- Verifies patient insurance eligibility and benefits using electronic verification systems or direct contact with payers.
- Obtains necessary authorizations and documents them in the system.
- Resolves outstanding balances from patients' previous visits.
- Trains staff on new processes, payer updates, and assigned reporting.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of specific admission, registration, and pre-registration requirements for all areas.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- 1+ years of Customer Service experience in a hospital, office setting, customer service setting, or phone support role
- 1+ years of electronic health record experience
- Ability to work part-time, approximately 21-26 hours per week
- Ability to work onsite at Walnut Creek, CA
