Description:

The Business Systems Consultant serves as a business analyst for projects involving critical data processing systems for the New Jersey Judiciary.

The BSC should expect to be involved with testing and work on the Helpdesk. Excellent communication is required as well as excellent customer service skills. The position is a hybrid role, with 2 days in-office (Tuesday & Thursday) and 3 days remote. The ideal candidate will have experience with developing systems using structured SDLC methodology, strong skills in Microsoft Visio, and experience with testing, training, and user support. The BSC will be responsible for the development and documentation of business requirements, creating user interface mockups, assisting technical teams in the development and documentation of technical requirements, testing the resultant software, and creating instruction manuals and teaching the system to end users. The BSC may also be called upon to perform limited project management functions. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of relevant experience, with 5+ years in a particular application area. Accredited college training may substitute for the required work experience, with a maximum substitution of 4 years. Accredited graduate training in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related area may substitute for the required work experience, with a maximum substitution of 2 years. Successful completion of an Information Technology Certification program may substitute for the required work experience, with a maximum substitution of 2 years. Proof of certification must accompany the application. Two years of work experience as a Project Manager-Associate, Quality Assurance Senior Analyst, Business Systems Consultant-Intermediate, or Quality Assurance Analyst may substitute for all of the required experience. A 4-year college degree or equivalent study under the direction of the supervisor of the business analyst team or designated project leader is also required.
