Financial Operations Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Assistant to join our team at Saint-Gobain. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in supporting our financial management, accounting, and operations functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the monthly close process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and data input.
  • Conduct financial reporting and analysis to inform decision-making, including profitability, cost management, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in creating budgets and financial forecasts based on historical data and future projections.
  • Maintain cost roll-up, work order reporting, and analysis, as well as absorption rates, machine hours, and run labor reporting.
  • Support inventory processes, including cycle count and physical audits, inventory account reconciliation, and inventory reserve maintenance.
  • Maintain fixed asset roll forward schedules and lead fixed asset audits.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Provide audit support, including gathering and preparing documentation, answering auditor inquiries, and ensuring audit findings are addressed promptly.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, and effective communication.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting/finance in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • 5+ years of experience with internal or external audit.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting principles to monitor and manufacturing cost roll.
  • High proficiency in MS Office, particularly with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as QAD or SAP for financial management.
