Job Summary

Hassan & Sons Inc is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our corporate team.

The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of experience in general ledger, financial reporting, and sales tax return preparation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Accounting Department
  • Reviewing expense coding to ensure compliance
  • Performing monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation, and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries
  • Performing general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, accruals, and prepaid expenses
  • Assisting in the preparation, reviewing, and analysis of general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers, including inventories and accounts payable
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial reports, such as financial statements and budget performance
  • Month-end procedures, including the preparation and posting of journal entries
  • Developing, documenting, and implementing accounting procedures
  • Analyzing and reporting on monthly balance sheet and P&L fluctuations
  • Analyzing various balance sheet accounts
  • Preparing periodic management and operating financial reports
  • Assisting with the preparation of property tax statements
  • Assisting with the preparation of State, Sales, and Use Taxes
  • Assisting with periodic census reports for various governmental agencies
  • Fulfilling information requests from external and internal auditors

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 4-5 years of experience in general ledger, financial reporting, and sales tax return preparation
  • Highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data
  • Strong mathematics skills and ability to analyze numbers
  • Highly skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets
  • Excellent verbal skills
  • Ability to multi-task, establish priorities, and organize efficiently
  • Strong work ethic and team player
  • Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • PDI Technologies software (required)
  • ADP WorkForce Now is a plus
