Sleep Center Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Polysomnographic Technician to join our team at the Sleep Study Center of Mount Sinai Hospital. As a key member of our sleep center team, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis, as well as providing exceptional patient care and support.
Responsibilities- Review patient history, physical information, and study protocol to ensure accurate and effective testing.
- Prepare and calibrate equipment to ensure proper functioning and make adjustments as needed.
- Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards.
- Perform routine positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fitting and follow procedural protocols to ensure collection of appropriate data.
- Document routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results.
- Implement appropriate interventions, including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention.
- Assist with scoring sleep/wake stages and clinical events using professionally accepted guidelines and center-specific protocols.
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and standards regarding safety and infection control issues.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Requirements:
- New York State Polysomnographic Technology Licensure and/or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) by Board of Registered Technologist (BRPT) or Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) by American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) or Registered Respiratory Therapist-Sleep Disorders Specialty (RRT-SDS) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
