Medical Support Specialist

The Medical Assistant functions as a vital member of the patient care team, contributing to the health management of patients. This role performs a wide range of patient care activities and accommodative services for Clinic patients, often in support of the section Manager. The Medical Assistant maintains primary responsibility for all technical procedures and the operation and care of the nursing unit.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform a variety of patient care activities, including assisting with medical procedures and providing support to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions and medical procedures.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
• Provide administrative support to the section Manager and other team members as needed.
Requirements:
• Formal training in medical assisting, as indicated by a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with the public and providing excellent customer service.
• Graduation from an approved medical assistant program is preferred.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and broad medical experience, with an emphasis on primary care.
Physical Guidelines:
The Medical Assistant must be able to move, traverse, position themselves, remain in a stationary position, and negotiate steps for up to eight hours per day. They must also be able to lift, move, and transport patients, equipment, and supplies. Additionally, they must have motor coordination and manual dexterity, articulate speech, and the ability to read and understand orders. Visual acuity is also required.
