Position Overview

The Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships will oversee and drive the company's initiatives in project development within the water and wastewater sectors. This role is pivotal in collaborating with the business development team to establish growth targets, identify potential opportunities, and foster networking relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the business development team in formulating and executing growth strategies within the Northeast region.
  • Conduct presentations for both existing and prospective clients to maintain and expand market presence.
  • Analyze client needs and determine optimal solutions to meet those requirements.
  • Prepare comprehensive responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotations (RFQs) with the support of the internal proposal team.
  • Oversee proposal preparation, pricing strategies, and client presentations, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and deadlines.
  • Negotiate agreements with clients, including the potential structuring of financing solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with various departments, including operations, finance, legal, and risk management.
  • Maintain accurate data within Salesforce and prepare monthly reports to communicate opportunities and address potential issues proactively.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and new offerings, sharing insights with colleagues.
  • Coordinate the involvement of development staff, technical teams, and upper management in project awareness.
  • Manage the internal approvals process efficiently.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent commercial experience; a background in performance contracting, utility management, or project finance is preferred.
  • A minimum of ten years of progressive experience in business development, particularly in municipal contracting, with a proven track record in complex transactions.
  • At least five years of supervisory experience in project development or management, including remote team leadership.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and adapt to new responsibilities.
  • Proficient in reviewing and negotiating complex contracts.
  • In-depth knowledge of the company's service offerings and market dynamics.
  • Strong project planning and organizational skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Work Environment:

This role involves significant travel (approximately 50% of the time) to client locations and corporate centers. Candidates should be prepared for potential challenges associated with travel and public environments.
